Chocolate French Toast

A traditional French treat. Delicious Pains au lait; crispy on the outside and tender on the inside finished with a warm chocolate sauce. Yummy!


  • 4 Brioche Pasquier Pains au lait
  • 4 eggs
  • 8tsp Sugar
  • 5tbsp Milk
  • 100g Dark Chocolate
  • 80g Butter


  • The chocolate sauce:
  1. Break the chocolate in cube and place in a bowl.
  2. Add the milk and place in the microwave for 20 or 30 seconds depending on the type of microwave. Ready when the chocolate is melted. 
  • The French toast
  1. Mix the eggs, the sugar and the milk in a bowl.
  2. Soak the pains au lait in the mix.
  3. Put the butter in a frying pan on a low heat.
  4. Once the butter is melted put the pains au lait - cut in half lengthwise - in the frying pan.
  5. Cook for 2 minutes on each side.
  6. Place the French toast on a plate and pour the chocolate sauce on top. 

Ready to be served!
