Pain au Chocolat Pudding

This is a delicious and indulgent dessert, great for a dinner party. Rich and gooey and perfect served with cream.


  • 6 Brioche Pasquier Pains au chocolat
  • 75ml Milk
  • 300ml Whipping cream
  • 75g Dark chocolate
  • 50g Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Orange


  1. Preheat the oven to 150C. 
  2. Cut each pain au chocolat in half widthways and pack them into an ovenproof dish. 
  3. Squeeze the juice of half an orange over the dish.
  4. Pour the milk, orange zest and 200ml of the cream into a saucepan and bring to the boil.
  5. Drop in the chocolate and stir until it has melted and become smooth.
  6. Mix the sugar and eggs together in a bowl and pour the chocolate mixture over, whisking all the time.
  7. Slowly pour mix over the pains au chocolat, allowing the custard to be absorbed before adding more.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is lightly crisp and the centre still wobbly.
  9. Serve warm with whipped cream.
